Actor Sonu Sood stopped from visiting polling booth in Moga
Guwahati: The Election Commission of India stopped Bollywood actor Sonu Sood from visiting the polling booth in Moga on Sunday.
Actor Sonu Sood’s sister Malvika is contesting in the Punjab Assembly polls from Moga on a Congress ticket.
Sonu Sood has been accused of attempting to “influence” voters by taking pictures with them. After a complaint from Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Darjinder Singh alias Makhan Brar, the ECI impounded Sonu Sood’s automobile to prevent him from visiting various booths.
Moga SP has also been instructed to file a complaint by District Magistrate Harish Nayyar.
We got to know of threat calls at various booths by opposition, especially the people of Akali Dal. Money being distributed at some booths. So it's our duty to go check & ensure fair elections. That's why we had gone out. Now, we're at home. There should be fair polls: Sonu Sood pic.twitter.com/Va93f3V7zH

Sonu Sood, on the other hand, has denied the allegations claiming that he never asked anyone to vote for his sister. He went on to say that he was only stopping by the polling booths placed up outside of polling stations.
Sonu Sood took Twitter to accuse other Moga candidates of purchasing votes.
It may be mentioned that Malvika Sood joined the Congress in January ahead of the Punjab polls slated to be held on February 20.
