Karnataka: Family of Naveen pay last tribute in Haveri
Haveri(Karnataka): The family of the Indian student, Naveen Shekharappa Gyanagoudarm who was killed in shelling attack in Ukraine paid their final tributes o Monday in Karnataka’s Haveri.
Naveen’s final rites were performed by his parents in accordance with Hindu Veerashaiva Lingayat tradition, and the body was then taken out for a parade around the hamlet.
Basavaraj Bommai, the Chief Minister of Karnataka, is expected to pay his respects to Naveen in his village.
Shekharappa was also honoured by locals and family.
Naveen’s mortal remains arrived in Bengaluru at 3 a.m. on Monday and were transported in an ambulance to his hometown of Chalagere in the Haveri district.
Basavaraj Bommai, the Chief Minister of Karnataka, paid his tributes and put a wreath on Shekarappa’s body at the Bengaluru airport earlier today.
At 9 a.m., the remains arrived at Haveri.
After the final rites, Naveen’s body will be donated to the SS Hospital in Davangere for medical treatment.
It may be mentioned that Naveen was a fourth year medical student and he was killed when he went out of his bunker to get some food, water, and exchange money.
