Guwahati: The body of an unidentified woman has been recovered from the Panikhaiti area of Guwahati on Tuesday.
The body was found without clothes on it at the Taribagan of Amgaon area.
The body was recovered by the locals in the area who immediately informed the police.
The woman is suspected to be allegedly raped and then murdered. The woman’s age would be around 30 years old.
Police reached the site and sent the body for post mortem reports. The incident will be investigated by the CID and police have also deployed a god squad to trace on the incident site.
Meanwhile, the identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained. The culprits tied her body and later dumped it in the area.
It needs to be mentioned that the dead body was taken to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for post mortem.
