Sonia Gandhi accuses BJP of using Probe agencies to target opposition
Guwahati: Sonia Gandhi, the interim president of the Congress, accused the BJP of playing divisive politics and using investigative agencies to target opposition parties on Tuesday.
She was speaking during a gathering of the Congress Parliamentary Party.
“The ruling party and its leaders’ divisive and polarising agenda has now become a regular component of political debate in state after state.”
She claims that history is being twisted in a malicious manner, not only in the past but also in the present, and that facts are being intentionally fabricated to further the narrative. It is up to all of us to take a stand against these forces of “hate and prejudice.”
“We will not allow them to sever the ties of friendship and harmony that have nourished and strengthened our diverse society for generations,” she continued.
The experienced politician accused the ruling establishment of targeting the opposition, its leaders, and workers on a regular basis. The governmental apparatus is unleashed in full force against them.
“To those in positions of authority, maximum governance clearly entails spreading the greatest amount of fear and intimidation. Such apparent threats and techniques will not frighten, silence, or intimidate us.” She stated her case.
MSMEs, according to Sonia, are in the most precarious position. There is no indication that the obligations made to the farmers would be fulfilled in any meaningful way. Prices of cooking gas and oil, gasoline, diesel, fertilisers, and other critical commodities have reached an unsustainable level, and they are continuing to grow.
“Our party launched a nationwide Mehngai-mukt Bharat campaign a few days ago, in which many of you participated. This has to continue.”
“Despite repeated attempts, we have been unable to get the Government to agree to a discussion on the situation on our borders, a discussion that could only have deepened the sense of collective resolve,” she said, praising the Congress-led UPA government’s National Food Security Act and MGNREGA. “In spite of repeated attempts, we have been unable to get the Government to agree to a discussion on the situation on our borders, a discussion that could only have deepened the sense of collective resolve.” I am delighted to report that the usefulness of non-alignment as a core premise of the nation’s foreign policy has been rediscovered, even if it is not universally accepted.
She voiced concern about the fate of the tens of thousands of Ukrainian students who have been evacuated. She accused the administration of weakening labour laws at a time when unemployment and job instability are on the rise. Interest rates on employee provident funds have been significantly cut.
“Under the guise of “asset monetisation,” public sector firms, which are the only source of employment for scheduled castes and scheduled tribes, are being auctioned off. As was the case with demonization, this will be a calamity “she stated
