IPS officer suspended in Manipur for engaging cops in household chores
Guwahati: The Manipur government has suspended an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer for involving cops in household chores.
Manipur Chief Minister Biren Singh ordered the IPS officer’s suspension on Thursday.
An IPS officer based in Manipur allegedly engaged police officers in household tasks at his private apartment.
The accused IPS officer has been identified as PG Singsit. He is a commandant of 7BN Manipur rifles.
“He (the suspended IPS officer) had at least 15 police officers at his residence, in addition to the cook, gardener, and peon,” Manipur Chief Minister Buren Singh stated.
“This is intolerable,” he added.
The Manipur chief minister further informed that the suspended police official had also handled police officers inhumanely.
