Guwahati: 4 Youths arrested In CRPF Exam Debacle

Guwahati: At least four youths have been arrested by the Guwahati police for appearing in Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) examinations in the place of other applicants on Saturday.

The detained youths have been identified as Subnar Basumatary, Lauga Brahma, Samjit Narzary and Bilar Basumatary.

According to reports, they had appeared in the departmental recruitment examination held at the CRPF campus at 9th Mile.

Officials stated that the four youths took the Citi GD physical examination on behalf of others using the CRPF’s PST/PET system.

Meanwhile, Amosh Lana, the assistant commander of the CRPF 9th Mile camp, filed a complaint with the Jorabat police station, based on which police had initiated investigation into the matter.

However, other charges of people presenting on behalf of legitimate applicants in the written section of the examination have surfaced.

The police officials further informed that they will continue the investigations in the matter.
