Miscreants Attack Businessman in Assam’s Kokrajhar, 5 Arrested

Guwahati: A gang of six armed miscreants robbed a merchant at Salakati of Kokrajhar district in Assam of Rs 20,000 on Friday evening.

The businessman identified as Bikash Jain. Criminals stole the cash by brandishing firearms at the merchant.

According to reports, the gang of miscreants arrived at Bikash Jain’s shop around 8 pm on Friday to buy items.

The miscreants who introduced themselves as Kamatapur Liberation Organization (KLO) cadres demanded money from Jain, according to him. When Jain refused to give them money, they shot him in the head.

The shop was vandalised and the loot totalled Rs 20,000. They also targeted Krishna Barman, a co-worker of Jain’s.

Meanwhile, the incident is being investigated by the Kokrajhar Police

According to the police, five persons in connection to the incident have been arrested so far. Police are currently interrogating the arrested persons.
