Amid Drama in Maharashtra: Guv Tests Covid+, Admitted To Hospital

Guwahati: Amid the political crisis in Maharashtra, Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari has been admitted to the hospital on Wednesday after testing positive for COVID-19. He is admitted at HN Reliance hospital in Mumbai.

Maharashtra is currently witnessing political uncertainty as Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde, along with several other MLAs, on Tuesday became incommunicado and looked to have rebelled against the party, forcing the major political groupings into a huddle.

Shinde, along with other MLAs, entered Guwahati today morning. He claimed to have the support of 40 MLAs. While the Shinde camp remained tight-lipped on the happenings within it, Shinde said: “We have not abandoned Balasaheb Thackeray’s Shiv Sena. We shall not leave it. We have been following Balasaheb’s Hindutva and would carry it further.”

The BJP is likely attempting to win the support of these “rebel” MLAs while the MVA alliance is attempting to bring the MLAs back.

Shinde was received by Sushanta Borgohain and Pallab Lochan Das as he landed in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-ruled state of Assam.

The abrupt change occurs amid rumours that a cabinet minister from Maharashtra will join the BJP in an effort to overthrow the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) administration in Maharashtra.

After touching down in Guwahati, Shinde declared, “There are 40 MLAs in total present here. Balasaheb Thackeray’s Hindutva shall be carried by us.

Sharad Pawar, the leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), responded to the MVA crisis by claiming that it was “an internal Sena matter.”
