Assam to hand over scooties to HS students based on Cut-off marks
Guwahati: Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu on Monday announced that students who have secured a first division in the Higher Secondary examinations, the results of which were announced today will also get scooty.
“Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had on earlier declared that the students securing first division in HSLC and HS will be granted scooty. The scooty would be given out depending based on the cut off marks keeping in mind the budget,” the education minister said.
He said that the scooty was given to students last year based on a set cut-off marks, and it would be given this year as well under the same conditions. The chief minister will decide how to continue the Anundoram Barooah reward for first- division holders.
The arrangement will be created in accordance with the Pragyan Bharati plan. This was informed by Assam Finance Minister Ajanta Neog during the state budget session of 2022-23.
The higher secondary (HS) results were released by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) on Monday.
The results for the three streams, that is, science, arts and commerce were declared today. The total pass percentage in Assam was recorded at 87.64 per cent.
