Guwahati: One person was arrested by Guwahati police in connection with a fake currency racket in Hatigaon locality of the city on Monday.
The arrested accused have been identified as Hafizul Islam.
According to reports, Islam was in possession of taking Rs 15,000 worth of fake currency.
Reportedly, several numbers on ATM cards along with a four-wheeler vehicle have been seized from his possession.
It needs to be mentioned that Islam was also carrying a fake identification card of being a journalist.
However, further investigation into the matter is underway in order to bust the other members who are involved in running the fake currency racket.
