Assam Govt will give scooters to students who have passed HS with 1st div: CM Sarma
Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Tuesday that the students who has secured first division in their higher secondary exams would receive scooters from the government.
While addressing to media, Sarma said that because the bullet (a Royal Enfield motorcycle) would be more expensive, scooters would be given in its instead. Also, bullet will lead to accidents, Sarma added.
CM Sarma said that both the boys and the girls will receive scooters.
“We give the Anundoram Barooah award to students who have secured star marks and in Higher Secondary we give scooters to girls who score first division. Once we are out of the flood situation, we will have a meeting on this around July 5-6. And, in future, matriculation won’t be so important and so for the last time whether we will give an award or not has to be decided. But we will definitely award the students,” said Himanta Biswa Sarma.
