Sanjay Raut to Appear Before ED Tomorrow

Guwahati: Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut declared that he would appear before the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) office on Friday.

This comes after his plea for additional time to appear in connection with a money laundering investigation was denied by the investigating agency.

The ED gave him a second summons to appear before July 1 after Raut failed to appear in the first summons on Monday due to the continuing political situation in Maharashtra.

The investigation against Raut is notable since it relates to the redevelopment of Mumbai’s Patra Chawl. His attorney had requested 13–14 days to provide the documents to the investigation agency, but the Agency denied the request.

Raut stated that the Shiv Sena will work to regain power in response to Uddhav Thackeray’s resignation as chief minister.

He said, “Shiv Sena is not born for power, power is born for Shiv Sena. This has always been Balasaheb Thackeray’s mantra. We will work & come to power on our own once again.”

According to Raut, Uddhav Thackeray has the confidence of NCP leader Sharad Pawar and interim Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

Meanwhile, the stage is set for the return of a BJP-led government in the state with the party, which is the single-largest party in the Maharashtra Assembly with 106 MLAs, likely to stake claim to form the government.
