Assam: Man arrested over communal remarks
Guwahati: Assam Police arrested one person for allegedly spreading communal hatred in Lakhimpur district of Assam.
The arrestee identified as Chiranjeet Bordoloi.
According to reports, Bordoloi is a leader of Asamiya Yuva Manch (AYM), a youth organization in the state.
Reports claim that Bordoloi assaulted a street seller and hurled the scalp cap he was sporting. He also made remarks against his community with communal overtones on camara.
The incident occurred at a market in North Lakhimpur.
Following the incident, Bordoloi was detained after the victim filed a case against him.
Notably, Bordoloi was previously detained in Lakhimpur for comparable offences.
Additionally, AYM had also abandoned him because of his unlawful actions.
