Guwahati: In the ongoing war against drugs in the state, Guwahati Police seized 1 lakh Yaba tablets on Thursday.
Moreover, the police officials further arrested four persons in the connection.
The arrested persons identified as Islamuddin, Mohammad Aboi and Salil Ahmed hailing from Manipur. Another arrested person has been identified as Abbas Ali who hails from Bihar.
Following a tip-off, the police officials launched a search operation against drugs and intercepted a vehicle.
During the operation, the officials recovered the tablets from secret chambers made in the dumper to transport the illegal tablets.
According to police reports, the drugs were smuggled from neighbouring state Manipur to neighbouring country Bangladesh.
Police officials informed that the market price of the recovered drugs is around Rs 6 crores.
Meanwhile, a legal proceeding has been initiated and further investigation is underway.
