Amit Shah Slams Oppositions for Spreading Negative Politics

Guwahati: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday criticised the opposition parties for focusing on the 2002 riots case against then-Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi. He also made the political resolution motion on the party’s behalf during the BJP’s national executive meeting which was held in Hyderabad.

The union minister clarified the recent Supreme Court decision clearing the former Gujarat chief minister in the 2002 riots case. Zakia Jafri, the petitioner and widow of former Congress MP Ehsan Jafri, had contested the SIT’s clean bill of health for Modi.

The Supreme Court dismissed a petition by Zakia Jafri on June 24 that contested the SIT’s decision to give Narendra Modi a clean bill of health.

According to a bench led by Justices AM Khanwilkar, the appeal is “devoid of merit.”

Shah said, “The Congress party should apologise to PM Modi for causing him harassment for the last many many years.” Shah was criticising the Opposition, which is run by the Congress, for persistently attempting to damage Prime Minister Modi’s reputation.

The Prime Minister was praised for his maturity his belief in the Indian judicial system and his faith in democracy. Shah also reaffirmed that the perpetrators in the case who acted with vengeance must be punished, an ANI report said.

“Whether it’s been the debate over India’s war against COVID-19 or even the bravery of the Indian armed forces carrying out surgical strikes, Congress has just supported negative politics,” he said.
