Guwahati: Expert in Vastu Chandrashekhar Guruji was fatally killed in the Hubballi district of Karnataka on Tuesday morning.
According to a report by India Today, police believe that the Guruji had travelled to the city’s President Hotel to meet with a business associate.
The report further said that two persons were seen stabbing him at the hotel reception on CCTV. The witnesses who were on the scene of the incident fled the area.
Police have launched a hunt to trace the killers, who are at large. Learning about the incident, the Hubballi police commissioner Labhu Ram rushed to the spot.
Labhu Ram said, “We have some information based on cell towers. The probe will reveal the motive. We are also documenting family members’ statements.”
Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai denounced the murder and said that he had discussed it with the hubballi police commissioner.
“It’s a heinous murder. Video is there too. I’ve spoken to Hubli police commissioner. An investigation is on now and the motive will be found. I condemn such acts. Govt will act strictly to nab accused,” the CM said.
The Vastu expert, a native of Bagalkote began his professional life as a contractor. Later, he settled in Mumbai after locating a job there. He afterwards went there to further his Vastu business.
His family had lost a child three days prior in Hubballi where he had travelled to attend a memorial service.
