Guwahati: A priest was arrested for allegedly sexually abusing a minor girl in Lakhimpur district of Assam.
The incident reportedly came to light after it was found that the young girl was pregnant.
Following a police complaint from her parents, the priest was taken into custody.
The alleged victim was raped many times by the accused priest identified as 85-year-old Bhola Baba.
It is learned that the priest was known to the family and was used to make the victim girl for some chores at the temple and then raped her.
The accused allegedly warned her that if she told anyone, there would be terrible repercussions.
