Animal Activist Vineet Bagaria Found Dead at his Residence in Assam’s Dibrugarh

Guwahati: Re-owned young animal activist was found dead at his residence in Dibrugarh district of Assam on Thursday.

The incident took place in Shandi Mandir Road of the district.

The activist has been identified as Vineet Bagaria.

According to reports, Bagaria’s family members found him unresponsive in his room and took him to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Additional SP (HQ) Bitul Chetia stated, “At this time, we are unable to comment because the investigation is still in its early stages. Although a suicide may have occurred, the post-mortem report will determine if it was a suicide or something else.

He said, “He’s been threatened by someone named Baidullah Khan and Sanjay Sharma for the past several days, so it might be a case of suicide abatement. The case is under investigation, and shortly all will be made known.

His family members have filed a case of abetment of suicide against Baidullah Khan.

Reportedly, Vineet’s family and Baidullah Khan have been at odds for the past few years.

Vineet’s father reportedly gave Sanjay Sarma a location to operate a business despite giving the premises to Baidullah Khan.

After a few days, Baidullah Khan set up business at the designated location selling motorbike parts.

Neighbours claimed that the locals in the area were disturbed due to the motorcycle repairing shop.

Vineet has tirelessly fought for stray dogs and was a co-founder of Animal Welfare People (AWP).

He and his team fed the stray dogs in Dibrugarh of Assam, during the Covid-19 pandemic.
