9 killed, 1 rescued as Car Falls into Dhela River in Uttarakhand

Guwahati: In a tragic incident, nine tourists from Punjab drowned after their car plunged into the Dhela river in Ramnagar town of Uttarakhand on Friday morning.

The accident took place when all the tourists was on their way back to Punjab around 5:45 am.

According to reports, all of them was washed away by its strong current.

Reportedly, all the victims were residents of Patiala district in Punjab.

As per police, five bodies have been recovered and five are still trapped in the car.

Meanwhile, a woman was rescued alive from the car.

The woman has been identified as 22-year-old Nazia and has been shifted to the Ramnagar hospital.

It may be mentioned that the 10 tourists were residing at a resort in Dhela.
