PM Modi Unveils 9500 KG National Emblem Statue Atop Parliament

Guwahati: The new national emblem that was cast onto the roof of the new Parliament building was unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday.

The bronze insignia is 6.5 metres tall and 9500 kilogrammes in weight. It has been cast at the top of the new Parliament building’s Central Foyer.

A steel supporting structure weighing roughly 6500 kg has also been built to support the insignia.

Eight various stages of preparation, from clay modelling and computer graphics to bronze casting and polishing, went into the concept drawing and casting process for the national insignia that will be displayed on the roof of the new Parliament building.

PM Modi spoke with the staff members involved in the construction of the new Parliament after the unveiling.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Minister of Urban Affairs Hardeep Puri were also present during the occasion.
