Amid rising Covid-19 cases, Manipur orders closure of schools till July 24
Guwahati: Manipur government has ordered an issue for shut down of schools with immediate effect as covid-19 cases rises sharply in the state.
The order stated that as Covid-19 cases increase and the test positivity rate ratio is over 15 per cent in the state, all the school shall remain close till July 24.
As many as 59 persons, including 26 men and 33 women have tested positive on Tuesday. With this, the total number of positive cases stands at 1,37,543. There has been no death in the past 24 hours.
The increasing of cases in the state now stands at 66,135 while the rate of recoveries is 57,264.
Meanwhile, 13,615 new COVID-19 cases have been recorded in India in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of coronaviruses to 4,36,52,944. With 20 new deaths in the last 24 hours the count climbed to 5,25,474.
According to the Union Health Ministry data, the active cases increased to 1,31,043. The active cases comprise 0.30 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.50 per cent
An increase of 330 cases has been recorded in a span of 24 hours.
