Guwahati: At least 24 children fell sick after consuming mid-day meals in a school at Muzaffarnagar city of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday.
The incident took place in Bibipur village of the city.
According to reports, a dead lizard was found in the mid-day meal served at a school.
Basic Shiksha Adhikari Shubhum Shukla stated that an investigation has been ordered into the incident and that anybody found responsible will face stern punishment.
UP Minister Kapil Dev Aggarwal inquired about the children at the district hospital after adopting Bibipur Village.
Parents of the students arrived at the hospital and demanded that Ashok Kumar, the school’s head cook, and the two cooks Babita and Ranbir be punished severely for their negligence.
