Guwahati: In the ongoing war against drugs, Assam Police arrested one suspected drug peddler and drugs worth Rs 1 crore seized in Hojai district of Assam on Tuesday.
The peddler has been identified as Debashish Haque.
According to reports, Haque was arrested from Hojai Railway Station with brown sugar weighing 983 grams.
Reportedly, Haque was smuggling the illicit drugs from Dimapur to Hojai via the Assam Express train.
Meanwhile, a case under the NDPS Act has been registered against him.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
