Guwahati: Ayurvedic and home remedies expert Pankaj Pathak was arrested by a team of Assam Police from Barpeta district’s Howly on Wednesday night.
He was arrested for allegedly making objectionable comments against a married woman scribe based in Guwahati.
Several complaints were reportedly filed across the state and a demand for his arrest rose Following the objectionable comments made by Pathak on social media.
According to reports, Pathak was hiding in Muslimpatty at the residence of a person who is identified as Mridul and as a result in his confession, Barpeta police arrested Pathak.
The police with the demand for him rising raided his factories in Nalbari’s Tihu and also seized the mobile phones of the employee working at the factory of Pathak.
However, Pathak was reportedly traced on Wednesday night by the police in Howly and was arrested.
As per reports, Pankaj Pathak was arrested based on directions by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma as he allegedly made several posts on his Facebook account assassinating the women and her husband’s character.
