7 GRP Personnel Reserve Closed For Selling Seized Marijuana at Kamakhya Junction
Guwahati: At least seven members of the Government Railway Police (GRP) stationed at Kamakhya Junction in Guwahati were reportedly implicated in the sale of marijuana that had been seized on Saturday.
According to reports, cannabis that was recovered during a smuggling operation was sold by railway police officers.
A GRP personnel identified as Purna Das has been detained while he attempted to sell marijuana, officials informed.
They claimed that on July 2, a raid near Kamakhya Junction resulted in the recovery of the marijuana. All of the officers who were on duty that day for the police have received punishment.
The personnel who have reserve closed have been identified as Balen Barman, Amal Kalita, Pranab Basumatary, Satya Das, Sailen Kakoty, Kuldeep Deka and Ismail Ali.
