Guwahati: In the ongoing war against drugs, one suspected drug peddler has been arrested by police from Bokajan in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district.
Based on specific information, a team of Bokajan Police launched a search operation at Dilai tinali of the district.
During the operation, the officials intercepted a Bolero pick-up vehicle.
On checking the vehicle, 19 soap boxes filled with heroin weighting around 241 grams were recovered which were concealed by welding the body of the vehicle.
The vehicle bears registration number AS 02 BC 7638.
The arrested smuggler has been identified as 30-year-old Rabindra Das, a resident of Howraghat.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered in connection to the seizure.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
