Mithun Chakrabarty: 38 TMC MLAs have Good Relation with BJP
Guwahati: BJP leader Mithun Chakrabarty on Wednesday asserted that 38 Trinamool Congress (TMC) legislators in West Bengal are in contact with the opposition group.
The actor-turned-politician while speaking at a news conference in Kolkata said that the BJP and more than a dozen MLAs from the ruling TMC have excellent working relationships.
“Do you want to hear breaking news? At this moment, 38 TMC MLAs have very good relations with us, out of which 21 are in direct (contact with us),” Mithun said.
In response to his accusations, the TMC stated that the well-known actor is “trying to confuse the people by making bogus assertions.”
Chakraborty said the BJP is in charge of 18 states and will “fly high in a few other states very soon.”
“The BJP won’t give up the battle in West Bengal. The party would form the next government if today’s elections in the state are free and fair, he said.
“Such statements are an attempt to fool the masses. It has no relation with reality,” TMC MP Santanu Sen said.
216 members belong to the TMC in the 294-member West Bengal Assembly. 75 lawmakers are part of the BJP opposing party.
