ED Raids Sanjay Raut’s Mumbai Residence in Connection to Patra Chawl Scam

Guwahati: The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) searched Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut’s Mumbai home on Sunday in conjunction with a money laundering investigation.

The ED officials have been interviewing Raut since they arrived at his home about 7 am in connection with the Patra Chawl land scam case.

Sanjay Raut was called before the ED on June 28 in an effort to stop the money laundering case involving the Rs 1,034 crore Patra Chawl land scandal. Raut had then dared the investigation’s agency to arrest him for refusing to cooperate with the probe and claiming the Monsoon Session of Parliament as justification.

As part of this inquiry, the ED temporarily attached assets belonging to Raut’s wife Varsha Raut and two of his acquaintances in April totaling more than Rs 11.15 crores.
