Guwahati: In a massive road accident, at least eight people were injured after a passenger bus rammed into a truck in Golaghat district of Assam on Sunday.
The incident took place at the National Highway 37 in Dergaon town of the district.
According to reports, Guwahati-bound night-super bus (bearing registration no AS-01-GC-4755) rammed into a dumper truck (bearing registration no AS-23-BC-1976) from behind at the highway.
Following the accident, the bus overturned and plunged into a paddly field.
In the incident, several passengers were injured including the bus driver. The locals of the areas rushed to the spot after the incident to rescue the people.
The bus was heading towards Guwahati from Tinsukia when the accident occurred.
Meanwhile, the injured people are currently being treated at the Jorhat Medical College and Hospital.
