Guwahati: In a massive operation, Assam Police seized a huge quantity of heroin in Karbi Anglong district on Sunday morning.
Two persons has been arrested in connection to the seizure.
The arrestees identified as Soleman Thuyer and Simaan Thuyer.
According to reports, a team of police officials launched a search operation at Khatkhati in Bokajan area of the district.
During the operation, the officials intercepted a vehicle.
On checking the vehicle, as many as 75 boxes containing 966 grams heroin were seized.
Reportedly, the duo had transported the illicit drugs from Dimapur.
The seized drugs are worth over Rs 8 crores in the international market.
Meanwhile, a case under the NDPS Act has been registered against the both of them.
