Assam Govt to Reward Good Performance to State Employees
Guwahati: The Assam government would recognise up to 10 non-gazetted personnel at the state level and 89 at the district level to encourage good work.
The ‘Lok Sewa Puraskar’ award will be presented on Lok Kalyan Divas on August 5, the death anniversary of Gopinath Bordoloi, the first Chief Minister of Assam.
Employees who perform well will be awarded a one-year extension of service, pushing the age of superannuation to 61 years, and a cash award of Rs 25,000 and a citation, an official statement read.
For the evaluation and selection of the awardees, a screening committee and a state-level committee have been constituted, the statement added.
The key selection criterion for the prizes, it was further said, would be integrity, timeliness, and work ethics, among other factors chosen by the committees.
The 35 districts submitted 259 nominations for the district-level award this time, and the 99 proposals presented by various departments and directorates were used to select the 89 recipients for the district-level award, as well as the 10 recipients for the state-level award.
