Assam: Registrar of Bhattadev University Held for Taking Bribe

Guwahati: The Registrar of Bhattadev University in Pathsala of Barpeta district has been arrested by officers of the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Assam for allegedly receiving bribe.

The arrested person has been identified as Sri Guru Prasad Khataniar.

He is currently being held by the police. Further action is being taken.

It may be mentioned that the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption is actively engaged in the fight against corruption. The Assam Police advised residents of the state to report any type of financial demands made by government personnel in July and provided two helpline numbers for people to report any incidences of bribery.

Numerous state government personnel have been caught in the act after the agency increased its vigilance against anti-corruption actions in the past month.
