Minister Pijush Hazarika Inaugurates Filmmaking Workshop in Guwahati

Guwahati: The Assam State Film (Finance and Development) Corporation held a special workshop on filmmaking at the Assam Administrative Staff College in Khanapara on Saturday, which was officially opened by Assam Information and Public Relations Minister Pijush Hazarika.

The event will be held on August 6 and 7, for two days. The workshop’s focus is “The Recent Trend of Film Making: Its Prospects and Challenges in this Digital Era.”

The renowned director and producer of films like “Fashion,” “Heroine,” and others, Madhur Bhandarkar, will conduct a master class on contemporary filmmaking techniques. Pijush Hazarika remarked, “The workshop will undoubtedly help the cast and crew members affiliated with the Assamese films as well as fresh aspirants.” There will also be training workshops led by a number of other directors.

However, he stated that the Assam Government led by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is dedicated to doing everything possible to advance and grow the Assamese film industry.

Pijush Hazarika’s companion, Assam Minister of Entrepreneurship and Tourism Jayanta Mallabaruah, said, “It will unquestionably help our regional film industry to cope up with the increased competitiveness in the field.”

Moreover, they were joined by several other filmmakers, artists, and film critics, including National Award-Winning Film Director Smt. Manju Bora, Assam State Film (Finance and Development) Corporation Chairman Shri Simanta Shekhar, Vice Chairman Dr. Alekhya Baruah, and others.
