Guwahati: With the drug menace continuing in the state, Assam Police in a big development seized a huge quantity of cannabis (ganja) and arrested one person in the connection from Bajali district on Saturday.
The accused has been identified as Koilash Das.
Following a tip off about the illegal drug smuggling in a shop, the team of Bajali Police launched a joint operation with the Nalbari Police and arrested the accused.
Das was apprehended from Mahtali Gaon of the district.
During the operation, 92.550 kgs of ganja has been recovered from his possession
In regard to the seizure, Assam Police tweeted, “Bajali & Nalbari police conducted joint operation at Mahtali Gaon in Bajali District. During search operation in the shop of Shri Koilash Das,the police team seized 92.550 kgs Ganja from his possession and arrested accordingly.”
