Bihar Pol Crisis: Nitish Kumar Likely To Be Sworn In As Bihar CM Again Today

Guwahati: The leader of the Janata Dal-United (JD-U), Nitish Kumar is expected to take the oath of office as the Chief Minister once more on Wednesday following the declaration of a “Grand Alliance” with the Tejaswi Yadav-led Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) in Bihar.

Tejaswi Yadav will likely take his oath of office as the deputy chief minister as well.

In a joint news conference with RJD’s Yadav, Kumar declared that the “Mahagathbandhan” will consist of seven parties, 164 MLAs, and independent MLAs.

In a crucial political development for Bihar, Nitish Kumar rejoined the RJD after breaking his partnership with the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance.

According to a tweet from RJD, the swearing-in ceremony will take place at Raj Bhawan at 2 pm.

The party wrote on Twitter, “The swearing-in ceremony of Honorable Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister will be held tomorrow at 2 pm at Raj Bhavan.”

Following his nomination as the head of the RJD-led “Mahagathbandhan,” Kumar met with Bihar Governor Phagu Chauhan twice on the same day, first to deliver his resignation as the NDA’s chief minister and again to claim the top position.

He claimed to have given the governor, who will decide whether or not the oath will be taken, a list of 164 MLAs. The Bihar assembly has 242 seats, with 122 constituting the majority.

Nitish Kumar will be sworn in as the state’s chief minister for the ninth time at this hour. After the events, the BJP retaliated against Nitish Kuma by accusing him of “disrespecting the mandate granted by the people of Bihar.”

Speaking to the media with Tejaswi Yadav, Kumar said that the grand alliance’s support came from seven different parties.

Yadav attacked the BJP, stating it lacked a partner for an alliance in the Hindi heartland. Additionally, he charged that the BJP works to undermine groups with which it makes partnerships.

“The BJP lacks an alliance partner in the heartland of Hindi. The BJP has historically destroyed the parties with which it has formed partnerships. That was something we observed in Punjab and Maharashtra,” said Yadav.

He also made reference to JP Nadda, the president of the BJP.

He referred to JP Nadda, the president of the BJP, by adding, “JP Nadda stated they will terminate regional parties. BJP is only capable of buying and intimidating individuals. We all agreed that the BJP’s programme shouldn’t be carried out in Bihar; we all know that Laluji halted Advaniji’s “Rath,” and we won’t give up at any price.

It should be mentioned that Kumar was a long-time ally of the BJP before the two parted ways in 2013 then reconnected in 2017. He claimed that at the party meeting, the decision to sever connections was made by a unanimous vote.
