Nichols High School: Not Responsible For “Unfortunate” Incident
Guwahati: Nichols Higher Secondary School in Guwahati confirmed its position on the death of one of its students on Wednesday, calling the accusations baseless.
According to reports, Sigdhasikha Das, a fourth-grade student at the school, passed out during the morning assembly because of the intense heat. She was subsequently treated in Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where she later passed away.
The media accounts surrounding the incident have been labelled as false narratives by the school administration. They claimed that Das was fine while attending school and that her tragic passing had nothing to do with the institution.
They said, “She was a good student. The media narrative on the incident is entirely false.”
Authorities gave a detailed account of the events of the day, stating, “She was first transferred to Marwari Hospital at 4.21 pm. At some point after, about 8.45 p.m., she was brought to GMCH. Her death was attributed by local medical professionals to a cerebral haemorrhage.
She had fainted at the morning assembly, but it is not what caused the terrible tragedy, the school continued.
According to the officials, the 10-year-old child took a school bus back to her house.
They claimed that the girl did not become ill or exhibit any symptoms while on the property and mentioned that she got off the bus at 12:15 and arrived at her house at 12:20.
“The parents have falsely accused the school, I’ve heard. Due to COVID-19, there have been no meetings with the parents, authorities said reporters.
Authorities claimed that whatever occurred must have occurred at her home and added that they would likely fight back if the parents decided to take the case to court.
However, the girl’s parents claim that the school was negligent in failing to notify them that their daughter had been ill while there. They said that the school sent the pupils home without even bringing up the student’s fainting incident.
