Guwahati: A wild adult elephant died after coming in contact with live electric wires in Golaghat district of Assam on Wednesday.
The incident was reported from No 2 Boraguhain village in Morangi near Numaligarh town of the district.
According to reports, the tusker wandered into the town in search of food; however, it trod on a live wire and died from electrocution.
Later forest officials reached the spot and recovered the body for post mortem.
