J&K: Terrorist Hideout Busted In Shopian, Arms & Ammunition Recovered
Guwahati: A day after the killing of a Kashmiri pandit by terrorists, security forces on Wednesday recovered large quantities of arms and ammunitions in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian.
According to Kashmir Zone Police, security forces have started a cordon and search operation at Kutpora in Shopian.
Reportedly, terrorists attacked the search group with grenades during the operation and then made them get away in the night-time darkness.
However, as they carried out their mission, police and security personnel discovered a hiding within a house and took the opportunity to seize the weapons and ammunition there.
Kashmir Zone Police tweeted, “On specific input Security Forces launched a CASO in Kutpora, #Shopian. During search, #terrorists lobbed grenades on the search party. Search party also retaliated. However, terrorists escaped due to darkness. Police & SFs busted a #hideout inside a house & recovered Arms/Amns.”
It should be mentioned that yesterday, terrorists opened fire on an apple orchard in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian region, killing one Kashmiri pandit and injuring his brother.
The incident took place in the Chotipora area. The deceased was identified as Sunil Kumar Bhat, while his brother, Pintu was wounded in the incident.
