Guwahati Police Rescues 19 Cattle Heads in Separate Incidents
Guwahati: Guwahati police rescued a total of 19 cattle heads in two different incidences on the city’s outskirts on Tuesday.
According to reports, a team from Sonapur’s East Guwahati Police District (EGPD) intercepted a Tata Yodha truck carrying eight animals that were being trafficked.
Two persons were arrested in connection it, identified as Sadikul Rahman and Baharul Islam, both hailing from Nagaon.
Moreover, a team of EGPD from Basistha PS rescued 11 cattle heads from Jorabat in a separate incident. The truck was intercepted when the cattle was being smuggled from Morigaon to Byrnihat on Tuesday morning.
However, police detained the driver and another passenger in the vehicle, who were later identified as Manjur Ahmed and Najim Uddin, both are from Hojai.
