Guwahati: India reported 15,754 new covid-19 cases with the active cases rising to 1,01,830 while taking the tally to 4,43,14,618, according to the data of Union Health Ministry.
According to figures updated at 8 am, the death toll increased to 5,27,253 with 47 fatalities, eight of which were reconciled by Kerala.
As per reports, the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.58%, while the active cases made up 0.23% of all infections, according to the health ministry.
The number of active COVID-19 instances has increased by 487 over the past 24 hours.
The health ministry said that the weekly positivity rate was 3.90% and the daily positivity rate was 3.47%.
Reportedly, 4,36,85,535 people have recovered from the illness, while the overall fatality rate is only 1.19 percent.
As part of the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination effort, the ministry reports that a total of 209.27 crore doses of COVID vaccine have been administered in the nation to far.
On May 4, 2021, and January 25, this year, India reached the depressing milestone of two crore and four crores respectively.
However, eight deaths from Delhi, six from Maharashtra, four from Karnataka, three each from Punjab, Rajasthan, and West Bengal, two from Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, and one each from Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Odisha, Sikkim, and Uttarakhand made up the 39 additional fatalities.
