Manish Sisodia Barred From Leaving India in Delhi Excise Policy Scam

Guwahati: Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia and 12 other people received a lookout notice on Sunday forbidding them from leaving the nation.

The notice was issued in response to a First Information Report (FIR) that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had submitted following allegations that they were complicit in the Delhi Excise Policy Scam.

Manish Sisodia’s home was visited by CBI detectives on Friday as part of their probe into alleged anomalies in the Delhi Excise Policy.

Manish Sisodia held a press conference the day after the CBI raided his home on Saturday. He supported the AAP administration and asserted that the excise policy it had implemented was among the best. He declared that Arvind Kejriwal will be running against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the general elections of 2024 and labelled the CBI raids against him a plot by the federal government to thwart Kejriwal.

Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, and Yogendra Yadav, a former leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), were all found not guilty of criminal defamation on Saturday by a Delhi court. Surender Kumar Sharma, who alleged that his AAP candidacy in the 2013 assembly elections was abruptly withdrawn, filed the lawsuit.
