15 Chinese Nationals Held For Staying Illegally In India
Guwahati: At least 15 Chinese nationals, including a woman were apprehended for staying without valid visas in Gautam Buddh Nagar of Uttar Pradesh.
According to reports, a comprehensive drive was started on Monday to verify foreigners residing in the area, which is adjacent to Delhi, in the wake of the arrest of a Chinese national in June who was staying illegally in Greater Noida.
He is currently being interrogated for suspected hawala connections.
The police stated, “As part of the verification campaign, 15 Chinese nationals staying illegally in Gautam Buddh Nagar were detained by the Local Intelligence Unit with support of local police on Monday. They are being sent to the detention centre in Delhi and will be subsequently deported to their country”.
