Guwahati: BJP leader from Hisar of Haryana, and actor Sonali Phogat passed away in Goa on Tuesday as a result of a heart attack.
This news was confirmed by party leaders on Tuesday.
“She has passed away. I have been given information that she was in Goa,” Haryana BJP chief O P Dhankar told PTI.
The precise time of her passing was not immediately known.
Phogat, a former TikTok celebrity, joined the BJP in 2019.
The Hisar BJP’s district president, Capt. Bhupender said, “Sonali ji was in Goa. I spoke to her assistant and he said that she died of a heart attack”.
Phogat had run against Kuldeep Bishnoi in the most recent assembly election from the Adampur Assembly constituency.
Bishnoi, who was then in Congress, recently joined the BJP.
