Petition Filed Against Internet Suspension over Direct Recruitment Exam
Guwahati: A written petition was submitted in Assam against the internet suspension during the direct recruitment exam on Wednesday.
The petition was submitted by Raju Prakash Sarma at Gauhati High Court.
It was filed in response to the state government’s intention to shut down the internet on August 21 for four hours during the Grade IV direct recruitment examination in 25 districts of Assam.
There have been allegations of businesses losing money as a result of the ban, as well as commuters and locals experiencing inconvenience.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma ordered the suspension of internet use during the direct recruitment exams to prevent question paper leaking.
The recently completed Grade IV examination took place in numerous locations throughout the state under intense surveillance.
The only electronic things that students were permitted to bring to the examination centers during the exam were smart watches, fitness bands, electric scanners, Bluetooth devices, microphones, etc.
The Grade III exam is planned to take place on August 28 and is anticipated to be equally stringent as the Grade II exam.
