PM Modi: Govt Investing On Six Fronts To Strengthen Healthcare

Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the government was making “historic investments” on six fronts to improve healthcare in India while unveiling the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre in Mohali on Wednesday.

Speaking there, PM Modi said, “the healthcare services are being improved on six fronts. The primary strategy is to promote preventative healthcare. The second is the opening of compact, contemporary hospitals. The third front is the opening of significant medical research and college institutions. The fourth front is an increase in the number of physicians and other medical professionals across the nation. The fifth is to provide patients with access to affordable medical supplies and medications. The sixth is using technology to minimise the patients’ issues. In these six areas, the Center is investing historic amounts of money.”

The Prime Minister underlined that the country’s healthcare system may be improved when hospitals offer solutions to the issues that arise during his one-day visit to Punjab and Haryana. According to PM Modi, the Centre has given holistic healthcare priority throughout his administration.

The PM said, “When the people of India have contemporary medical care and facilities, they will recover faster and their energy will be directed in the appropriate directions.”

He added, “Building simply four-sided walls is not what a good healthcare system means. Only when it offers solutions to issues does a nation’s healthcare system get stronger. In the previous eight years, holistic healthcare has been ranked among the top priorities in the nation.

The work that has been done in the field of healthcare over the past eight years, according to PM Modi, has not been done in the previous 70.

He thought back to his Independence Day speech at the Red Fort, where he had set the goal of making India a developed nation by the time it celebrated 100 years of independence. In order to accomplish that, he has stated that improving healthcare services is crucial.

The prime minister declared, “We recently made a commitment to turn India into a developed nation. It’s crucial to improve India’s health services if it wants to become a developed country. The people of India will recover faster and their energy will be directed in the proper directions if they have access to contemporary medical facilities. The Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Center is a cutting-edge medical facility for the nation.

PM Modi dedicated the cancer hospital and research centre to the country when it was opened in an effort to offer top-notch cancer treatment to the residents of Punjab and the surrounding states and union territories.

PM Modi was congratulated by Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann during the hospital’s opening ceremony. It is a tertiary care hospital with 300 beds and contemporary equipment that can treat all cancer kinds using every treatment option, including surgery, radiotherapy, and medicinal oncology, which includes chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and bone marrow transplant.

The facility will serve as the regional centre for cancer care and treatment with the 100-bed hospital in Sangrur.
