Meenakshi Goswami from Assam to be Conferred ‘National Awards to Teachers’
Guwahati: Meenakshi Goswami, a teacher in Assam, will receive the National Awards to Teachers for her contributions to the field.
This was announced by the Union Ministry of Education.
Meenakshi is the principal of Chandranath Higher Secondary School in Sonitpur district.
The award will be given to 46 teachers around India in honour of Teacher’s Day on September 5.
President of India Droupadi Murmu will present the awards to the recipients at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.
Every year on September 5th, the Ministry of Education’s Department of School Education and Literacy hosts a national ceremony to present the National Awards to the nation’s top educators.
In a press release it said, “The purpose of National Awards to Teachers is to celebrate the unique contribution of teachers in the country and to honour those teachers who through their commitment and industry have not only improved the quality of school education but also enriched the lives of their students.”
Taking to twitter, Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu congratulated Goswami and wrote, “Heartiest Congratulations to Ms. Meenakhi Goswami, Principal, CNS Higher Secondary School, Sonitpur, for being selected for the #NationalTeacherAward2022.”
