Guwahati: Tensions grew in Dhubri district of Assam after a middle-aged woman was discovered dead in a home at Salkocha village near Chapar town.
The deceased woman identified as Samuda Begum.
According to reports, Samuda was discovered dead at her in-house laws in the village.
A verbal battle broke out between the woman’s family and her husband’s family after the incident.
Samuda’s family claimed that she was the victim of a premeditated murder, however the family of her husband claimed that she drowned in a pond before passing away.
The victim’s relatives also asserted that Samuda experienced domestic abuse at the home of her in-laws.
Samuda’s family filed a complaint against the husband as a result of the incident.
