PM Narendra Modi to Inaugurate Atal Bridge in Gujarat

Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Atal Bridge in Ahmedabad of Gujarat on Saturday.

In a press release, the Gujarati government announced that Prime Minister Modi will arrive in the state for a two-day visit. On the first day, he will speak to a crowd at the “Khadi Utsav” event, which will be hosted on the Sabarmati Riverfront.

The foot-over bridge which was erected by the Amdavad Municipal Corporation and is named after the late prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, will be dedicated by the prime minister from the same location, it stated.

There is a footbridge called the Atal Bridge between Ellis Bridge and Sardar Bridge on the Sabarmati River. Steel pipes weighing 2,600 metric tonnes were used to construct the bridge. The riverfront’s flower garden on the western end and the future arts and culture centre on the eastern end are connected by the pedestrian-only bridge.
