Guwahati: A 7-year-old minor boy was killed in a hit-and-run accident under Hojai district of Assam on Monday.
The accident took place near Karipana Tiniali area in Lanka of the district.
The deceased boy has been identified as Afaz Alom.
According to reports, the victim boy was killed when he was struck by a speeding dump truck as he was walking home from a nearby mosque after doing the Fajr Namaz.
Following the incident, authorities seized the dumper truck with the registration number “AS-02CC-9663,” however, the driver managed to escape before he could be caught.
Meanwhile, a hit-and-run case has been registered against the driver.
A manhunt to nab the accused has been launched, police said.
