NCP Chief Sharad Pawar’s Scathing Attack: PM Did Not Keep Promises

Guwahati: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Sharad Pawar attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, saying that he had broken all of his pledges.

Pawar criticised the Modi-led government at the federal level, claiming that the BJP’s purpose was to prevent minor parties from gaining power. He was in Thane, the home turf of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

Pawar said, “The Union administration has made numerous promises since the 2014 general elections, but not one of them has ever been kept. Every citizen in the nation was promised a home by the prime minister, however this promise was broken by the administration.”

The NCP chief also slammed the BJP, alleging that it had overthrown state governments to seize power and furthered its goal by using central investigative agencies.

Shinde and a group of 39 Shiv Sena lawmakers defected in June of this year, which caused the Sena, NCP, and Congress-led government led by Uddhav Thackeray to fall.

Shinde won the election and took office in Maharashtra on June 30 with the help of the BJP.

It should be noted that Anil Deshmukh and Nawab Malik, two top NCP figures, are currently incarcerated after being detained by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with separate money laundering investigations.
